Ecclesia Books
Ecclesia was set up in 1988 to meet the needs of individuals, groups and churches
in the mainline Christian traditions following the closure of the Presbyterian
and Anglican bookshops in Christchurch in the 1970's and 80's. It is privately
owned, and run by Jenny and Lorraine who, between them, have more than 35 years
experience in the Christian book trade.
We offer a wide range of books for those Christians who continue to be challenged
in their faith and thinking, as well as books and gifts to mark all ages and
stages of the Christian journey such as baptisms, first communions, confirmation
etc.
We also supply clerical and other aids and resources needed for liturgical worship,
as well as a range of clerical shirts.
An important area of our ministry is the range of cards, candles and gifts we
carry to help you commemorate those special occasions in life, as well as those
events we need to acknowledge such as illness, loss and death. Christmas
and Easter cards. We pride ourselves in having a range of cards which expresss
the real Christian message with a clear, unsentimental clarity. Icons, celtic
crosses and plaques, celtic jewellery and personalised candles add to our gift
range.
Ecclesia may be small in size, but we think we are big in heart. A personal,
friendly service and a desire to assist our customers with their needs, remains
our raison d'etre. Whether your approach is in person, by mail, by telephone,
fax or email, you and your business are important to us and we will do our best
to meet your requirements. We really do believe in good "old-fashioned" service!
